ONLINE – Lindsay Teasdale – Easter Sunday Service
Today is the day when we celebrate that Jesus defeated death – what a wonderful truth!
As we have journeyed through Easter from the cross to the grave and finally to his resurrection, the story of Salvation is completed and we can be assured of our redemption through Jesus.
1. Pray that you will find a renewed hope and faith this Resurrection day.
2. Be thankful for the power and victory that is found in His name
3. Pray for others to know him as Lord and Saviour
ONLINE – Lindsay Teasdale – Good Friday Service
Happy Easter to our Church Family,
Today is a day of reflection and rejoicing as we celebrate Good Friday.
It’s a day where we remember the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross for us. The day that he took our place on the cross and through his sacrifice we are shown the greatest example of Love and Grace the world has ever known.
This week I’ve been reading through the events of the week as Jesus walked to the cross. We see him greeted like a king on Palm Sunday, he cursed the fig tree and challenged the temple practices, the religious leaders begin to plot to kill him, Jesus predicts his death, the sharing of the passover meal with his friends, a prayer to His father, he is betrayed by a friend, another friend denied knowing him, he suffered false accusations and condemnation from men at his trials, he was falsely sentenced to death, he was crowned with thorns and carried the cross whilst being mocked, and finally he was nailed to the cross and these great last word were spoke….”Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” Luke 23:34. Whilst nailed to the cross Jesus offer redemption to another “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise” Luke 23:43. Then in Luke 23:46 “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit” after this, his last breath was taken……it’s a beautiful story of TRUE LOVE and Sacrifice.
As we celebrate Good Friday a little differently this year, the purpose is still the same so
I encourage you this weekend to sit down and watch the Good Friday and Easter Sunday services. It’s a time for us to be thankful that we have a creator who loves us enough to send his son to die on the cross for you and for me.
Prayer points:
1. We pray that we will continue to seek to connect with each other
2. We pray that over the weekend we will truly be thankful for the free gift of salvation
3. We pray the at the end of this season we will rejoice and be encouraged to reconnect with each other.
This week we are thankful for the blessing that God has provided:
1. All our church family at this time are not physically affected by COVID 19
2. We are thankful to the continued support and love that is being shown to one another.
3. We are thankful for a loving God who gave us an eternal free sacrifice

ONLINE – Stephen Punch – The Daniel Dilemma
Hello Church Family,
This week Ps Stephen will provide the closing sermon on the Daniel Dilemma. In this we look forward to Jesus returning in triumph. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 states “May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” , this is the challenge we have been facing as we walk through the Daniel Dilemma. As we head into Easter, I am reminded of the contrast between Jesus dying on the cross in the most undignified manner, and the picture of his prophetic return in Daniel .
Across our community we are finding various ways for us to connect including ZOOM which allows us to have face to face catchups.
We continue to pray for you all and look at ways we can connect and care for you in this time of change. Please let us know if there is anything we can assist you with.
Prayer points:
1. Pray for our Nation as we face stronger social restrictions than we have ever faced.
2. Pray for OOSH management and staff as they continue to provide essential services to many families across our area and as they deal with the ever changing environment and loss of social connection with families.
3. Pray for those in our community who are sick and have been stood down from work.
This week we are thankful for many blessings including:
1. Celebrating the marriage of Adam and Abbey Bathgate
2. Creative ways in which people are meeting by phone and internet.
3. The proactive government measures that seem to be effective in containing the spread of the virus.

ONLINE – Stephen Punch – The Daniel Dilemma
Hello Church Family,
Well, it has been a week of constant change and reassessing what’s happening and how we continue to glorify God.
Society may change, and we may not be able to meet, but God does not change or move What a great assurance that is to us!
We continue to pray, and make phone calls to you all to ensure we are somewhat connected. The leadership team are still willing to provide personal visits to you when required.
This week Ps. Stephen will provide an additional sermon covering the Daniel Dilemma see attached link. We have also included a few songs for you to listen/sing to bit.ly/MBC29032020_Songs
Yesterday a team of people dropped off some items to the kids in our church and we will also be including a video for the kids in our weekly emails. See this link http://bit.ly/MBCkids29032020 and attached is a song for them to learn and sing along to.
This weekend we were scheduled to hold our annual church camp at Gloucester, but due to changes around COVID-19, this is postponed until further notice.
In saying all this in the last week we have celebrated with:
· Brent & Amy Cowley for their baby shower to celebrate the upcoming birth of their bub.
· Brian and Jess Barnes for the dedication of Evelyn and 1st Birthday celebration.
· Our first online sermon recorded and distributed.
· We also want to recognise and celebrate Burt Guy’s 80th Birthday on 26th March. Happy Birthday Burt!
· We are receiving lots of emails and encouragement from you all, and thank you for them, they are much appreciated.
Prayer points:
· Adam & Abbey’s wedding day as it approaches.
· Continue to pray for our health, teachers, supermarket staff and other essential services workers who are on the front line.
· For the people in our community who may not be able to work at this time due to the current circumstances.
· Let’s continue to pray that through this situation people will come to know JESUS.
The Australian Government made announcements that have led to NSW Baptist Association and other major church groups advising against meeting in connect groups/small groups etc. We, as a church leadership support this advice and have notified all our connect groups leaders of this change. In turn, we will increase our phone calls, and look to create groups through zoom/messenger, etc.
I would encourage you where possible to reach out to your neighbours where practical. This week Nicole and I dropped letters into our neighbours’ letterboxes with our contact details, just to let them know we were here and offering support if required. As a result of this, conversations have opened and Jesus’ name is being shared……God is Good!!
One of the questions we have been asked “ how can I continue to give financially to the church? If you wish to give we encourage you to do this through online banking . Maitland Baptist Church – Greater Building Society BSB 637 000 Account 717173309.
Please continue to send in prayer requests and information that you may want us to share. Good news stories are an encouragement to us all!
Ps Lindsay
